Club Expo Round 2
by Sofie Zungia
The second Club Expo occurred on Wednesday, January 28, during lunchtime. This year's event showcased a variety of clubs that excel in problem-solving and foster creativity through diverse mediums. The clubs were thoughtfully organized and displayed throughout the Fresno High campus. With vibrant posters and distinctive club booths showcasing their unique artistic talents, it was hard to resist stopping by while grabbing lunch.
Club Expo has been organized and led by Leadership instructor, Mrs. Melissa Bangerter (affectionately known as Mama B), for over 20 years. According to Mama B, the primary purpose of Club Expo is that “it serves as an opportunity for students to explore all the clubs and activities during lunchtime.” This event offers significant advantages for Fresno High students, providing them with a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and potentially forge new friendships.
Leadership typically organizes Club Expo twice a year, occurring in both the first and second semesters to kick off the academic year with enthusiasm. This event showcases incredible clubs that assist Fresno High teens in broadening their horizons, offering a variety of unique options.
Notable Clubs Include: JROTC: Perfect for students interested in military careers. Mud Club: Ideal for those who enjoy crafting ceramic clay, whether for gifts or personal use. Social Justice Club: A vital club, especially given today’s socio-economic and political climate, where members can learn about their rights and how to advocate for themselves and others in need.
Overall, Club Expo is a fantastic event brought to life by the dedicated Leadership team and Mama B at Fresno High.
